The Council serves as an advocate for older citizens of Shawnee County by maintaining awareness and familiarity with agencies serving older citizens, by identifying unmet needs of those citizens and helping to provide necessary services on a county‑wide basis. CRC provides business, financial, and technical support to SCACA by providing staffing, financial management, and long-term strategic planning.

Shawnee County Advocacy Council on Aging has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) dated March 7, 2016 for applicants wanting to receive Senior Social Service Program Funding. These funds are intended to underwrite programs for the elderly exclusively by Senior Programs for the Elderly (SPE) funded agencies to increase the quantity and the quality of life for senior adults in Shawnee County, Kansas.
The Shawnee County Advocacy Council on Aging hopes to award level funding for the 2017 grant.
Original grant applications (no copies necessary), are due on or before April 8th to Community Resources Council at the address stated above no later than 4:00 pm.
