On August 13, the Shawnee County Board of Commissioners approved an allocation plan for the Shawnee County Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) monies. This plan allocates $5,514,572 for Community Based Programs. This plan will be submitted to the Kansas Recovery Office for their approval. The State has promised that all plans will be reviewed by September 15th. If the plan is not approved by the State, the County will be given the opportunity to reallocate the funds and resubmit it to the State for reconsideration. The Community Based Programs can include but are not limited to: • Support to area non-profits for re-opening measures; • Small business grant programs; • PPE to individuals, business and non-governmental entities; • Food security programs; and • Other essential service providers in the community who are unable to access State and Federal level programs
